    Hi Mjeanne,

thank you very much for your work. After month where the board was nearly down, you found a way to pull it out of the crisis. I know from my experience how much energy that requires and how many, many hours you spend to improve this board. I am really glad you are part of the team and I hope you will continue with your great work.

I know, the only thing what is really annoying on adminstrative work is the fact that you often work for hours and you do not get any feedback. So collegues, please take the chance to say a big "thank you " to Mjeanne and the whole rest of the team...

    Thanks for all your work!

Hi Mjeanne, thank you very much for your efforts. I really know how hard you worked to achieve this. Let's hope members are a bit thankful and contribute, contribute, contribute...

    Hi mjeanne,

I am really glad that you are part of the team. It seems, there is a lot of fresh air caused by you. In my eyes, this is the thing the board really needs.
I totally understand that you would have some senior members to support you. I for my part would like to offer my support, also I am no admin anymore. I always told that and I'll keep this offer alive.
One thing you should know: When we launched the section Advanced Members, we had the same idea - and I think we communicated it to the user. Everybody, who becomes Advanced Member can call himself "senior member". So we had the idea to include them into the decision procedure for changes in the board. Unfortunately, we did not get much response from AMs. Maybe we made a mistake, maybe the idea simply was not good. But if you want to involve senior members or you would like to have the support of senior members, you maybe should start with that in the Advanced members section.

It's a pity: It seems most of the users only come here for collecting pics. That's nothing new, most of them do not even post a comment on pics. Just clicking in, saving to HDD and out.
If you think of what kind of board we could have if we only would have some engaged users... inseat of that we are talking about a dying board (maybe)...

    Hi mjeanne,

I would say that the most important "Skill" should be a kind of passion to provide a really good board. To achieve this the team think of possibilities to improve the board. Beside this, the team should of corse have an eye on daily postings. Threads can be moved from one section into another ( two or three clicks only), posts sometimes have to be merged together.
The technicla thing about this board is no whichcraft, too. If you have a feeling for technical things, if you maybe have already developped a webpage (no need!) or if you even know how to deal with woltlab boards, it would be simply perfect. But if you have absolutely no clue about woltlab, you simply should have a hand for computer stuff. The rest is simply to learn.

    Do you agree, Bioco?

As former admin and founder of this board and I am a little concerned about this board. It is a pity, that no one of the team seems to be able to answer the upcoming questions of the users although everybody should know what is the reason for the difficulties.
At the beginning of the year, we already experienced seroius access problems, because the board became too big. The only chance we had was to delete some older content. After this, the situation got better. But now, after some stuff is posted again, we are close to the limit of the server again.
After we found out (with help from BCF - Thanks!) that the server is the problem, we have only the chance to move the server. This should be not so a big problem, it should be affordable too. But for some reason nobody of the current team wants to do anything. And so this board comes into a dangerous circle: Users will not contribute anymore because the connection ist too slow - and the users that are still posting will probably lead to a drop down of the server. This should be the end of the board...

The only way to avoid this is to find an engaged team...

    Just my two cents...

    Hi,

@ spike: There are users that are not familiar with English. If I understood right, the both users are confused about the ten postings - rule. They registered in demilo, can't see the pics. the problem of matzethecaster / traumgipser is that he has a very slow internet connection and so he is not able to upload pics to demilo. So he asks if he should comment pics that he cannot see - or if there is any other solution for him..

would be great if you could find a solution to avoid disappointment...

    Hi Promi,

    Homer

I think bioco is on holidays atm and the other team-members seem not to be able to answer or they are simply not interested. I think what this board is really missing is a team full of motivated members that really want to offer a fresh board. Referring to my time as admin I would say that at least to of the admins are willing to do this.
But for my part I did not really realize some results of the work of some moderators. This may be a main reason why this board semms to slow down more and more...

    Just my 2 cents...

    Hi spike,

I wish you all the best for your new job. I am sure you and the whole team will do a good work. Let's hope there will be many sightings to administrate here... :D

    cheers,

    Homer

    Hallo nochmal,

    Euer

    Homi

Hi, now it's time for me to say goodbye from my administration-role. I want to thank you for all your kind words.I really hope, this board will develeop as good as it did in the past so that we all will be able to see some really fantastic sightings.

    Cheers,

    Homer

Wozu also ergebnisfreie Diskussionen führen?

    Euer

    Homi
